DAY 6

ROUTE:Sparks,NV to Lovelock,NV DISTANCE:91 miles WINDS:Mild
WEATHER:44 early, warming to mid 70s TERRAIN:Rolling to flat CLIMBING:A couple of molehills

Hey everyone! Well, the huge metropolis of Lovelock, NV, has no local internet access numbers, so I couldn't write an update last night. Anytime there is no update, you'll know that I couldn't get online. Anyway, I was pooped after 91 miles, so it was nice to be able to crash early. The terrain changed dramatically today. We left the greens behind for the browns of the desert. It was weird...you could almost see the exact point where it changed! We rode all day in between mountains that were miles away and separated from us by desert. Way cool! Nothing particularly significant happened yesterday...we rode all day on I-80...a little intimidating, but safe due to the size of the shoulder. The worst thing about interstate riding is that you have to watch out for radial tire wires...otherwise you'll spend all day changing flat tires! So far, I have had ZERO flats. I probably just jinxed myself! Every restaurant, hotel, and convenience store in Nevada has a casino attached to it. You could drop money on your way to use the restroom! Good thing I'm a tightwad! I have lost $2.25, but that's my limit. I watched Michael win $100 playing blackjack the other night, but that's too high stakes for me! On our way into Lovelock at 1:30, we stopped at a Mexican American restaurant and had lunch, then we had the rest of the afternoon to chill. I did laundry and took a nap. Dinner was at the restaurant and was pretty good. I need to start logging what I eat each day...you wouldn't believe the amount of food I'm consuming to have the energy to ride like this! I'm telling you...I may be Mrs. Michelin Man when I get to thte east coast in July!
